Outside Christmas Prep

Having fun putting up outside Christmas lights up today or I should say John is. I am just playing a support role in the caper! LOL I keep the music going, make sure he has something to drink and occasionally hand him something. Had minor surgery yesterday and that went well. Yippee Looking for the kids to be home on the 20th for Christmas. We always have a party at work for needy children helped get presents for that this week. Looks like everything is falling in place for the big day. Hope your Holidays are Merry and Bright!

Holiday Preparations

Holiday prep is in full swing here! Love the season. I have a quirky little thing I started doing years ago. Whatever hobby I am into I always save the December magazine. Always looking for new recipes, decorations or scrapbook ideas. During the month of December whenever I have a few minutes whether it be while waiting for something to come out of the oven or just taking a few moments to have some hot coco and prop my feet up, I take out the old magazines and reminisce. It is especially fun with the SB magazines. I find designers I haven't seen in awhile, sometimes I find an old technique I can make new again or just laugh at how we used to do things. I always see something I did not remember from years past. Here are two of my Christmas cards for this year. Stamps and punches from Stampin' Up, bird punch from Martha Stewart, Stickles(best glitter glue on the market IMHO),and I forgot the name of the maker of the felt trees but, they were a bargain at Big Lot's. Now gotta get them addressed and in the mail!

Get Well Soon Debbie Cakes

My sweet DIL had surgery this week and we wish her a speedy recovery! The get well card is one I made for her. Love the fall colors of the Basic Grey paper, the Martha Stewart leaf punch, Stampin Up circle scallop punch and you know me and my beads! LOL Finally got Sean's birthday pictures from a few weeks ago. This is just a 6X6 page for his little SB. I think the nintendo DS was a hit! How many of you braved the crowds and got out there and shopped today? Not me!!! I worked Thanksgiving night so the only thing that looked good to me the next morning was my bed! It was a good night at work though. Lots of the staff brought in food from their family dinners and I got to sample it. Yippee! Hats of to Terrie's Moma, she made an Italian Cream Cake to die for! Yummy!

Does this happen to you?

I sit down to update my blog and start reading your blogs and before I know it an hour has pasted and I haven't done what I set out to do? There is just never enough time....
John has been home this week regaining his strength and getting his medications adjusted. Now that it is Friday he is going a little stir crazy, following me around like a puppy and messing with my mojo! LOL I am sure some of you can relate! LOL I am thankful he is feeling better now!
Can you believe this was Maggie Beth's school picture? Neither can I - Love it! Did this page last week. Maggie's outfit has apple slice buttons on it but they aren't visiable in the picture. Love this Stampin' Up paper because of the apple slices. The words are by Memory Makers found at Big Lot's for a buck a pakckage, gotta love that!

New Ways and Thank Yous

Got a new rice cooker yesterday, cute little red pot, yes? Trying to to find new easy was to cook low fat and whole grain foods. This little red pot also comes with a steam basket for veggies. Think I am going to like this pot! Also making thanking you notes for all the great people who helped John and I out. We are so blessed!

What a week it was!

Just a quick run down on what has been happening. My hubby was feeling bad last Wednesday night and had to be admitted to CCU. He was having some heart problems and HTN. The next morning he was sent to a larger facility were he had two stents put in. Lots of waiting, watching and medications and he is now back home doing well. We feel incredibly blessed to have such a good outcome and such good doctors, nurses and good friends. Our heartfelt thanks to you all!

It's Frightening!

I got busy after 'Dancing with the Stars' last night and created this page. Just loved this picture of Maggie and her friends. Their Mothers got together and plotted this plan for Trick or Treat delight. Speaking of 'Dancing with the Stars',
I am finding this season not as exciting as previous seasons. I did like the group dance which was scored. Added a little extra to the mix.

Island Boy

I am missing all of the G-babies a lot today. Even though none of them are babies anymore I still refer to them as G-babies. G-babies is not an internet abbreviation. G is what they call me so, they are my G-babies. Sean was our first G-baby and this was his first year to play flag football. They live so far away now that we did not get to see any of his games and haven't been able to get any pictures yet. {Another good reason to scrapbook, you can always pull out your layouts when you are homesick to see family and friends.} This layout is from a trip we took last summer to Jekyll Island with Sean and Scott. Jekyll Island is one of Georgia's best kept secrets. It is a beautiful Island with very little commercialization. The kids always have a good time climbing on the huge oak trees, exploring the beach and watching the fiddler crabs.

Scott is really doing well this year on his soccer team. He has gone to his brother's games for a couple of years now and even got to play some last year. The year he has put it all together and has his game face on!

Creature of Habit

I am such a creature of habit. I make my appointments around my work schedule which rarely changes, that is until this week. The new schedule for the next four weeks
has several changes on it all which conflict with my appointments! Ugh Oh, did I mention I work twelve hour shifts at night and that we have been crazy busy ? LOL
So much for a regular routine to keep your life running smoothly. Guess that is what happens when you work 'Shift Work'. Thanks Kenny

Halloween Card

Just love this new fence punch from Martha Stewart! The kitty pumpkin was from one of those tubs of foam stickers, since we are a kitty household this one worked 'purrfect'. The greeting is from the Stampin Up set 'A Haunting Halloween'. I borrowed the owl and tree punch while I was at Scrap a Palooza and I am not sure which company makes them. What have you been making this weekend?

Ghosts and Goblins

Anybody in the mood for some Ghosts and Goblins? I am ! Have the urge to put out the Halloween decorations, hope to get to that this weekend. In the mean time here is a little goblin from a previous year. Like the eyeball? Easy to make; oval chip board painted white, round chip board painted green, regular size brad painted black. Glue round chip board to oval chip board, insert brad. Use red and black pins to freehand lines in eyes then glue black fibers around the edges and there you have it! I will pick a name for my RAK on Friday.

Anniversary

Recently I celebrated my one year smoke free anniversary! It was and continues to be quit a journey. First of all I never thought I would be able to do it but, with the drug Chantix I DID IT !!! Along the way I have encountered anxiety, depression, weight gain and hypertension. I am happy to say I overcame all of them except the weight gain and I am still struggling with that. I will continue to work on that and we will see where I am at two years. In honor of my anniversary and the fact that I have been blogging regularly I would like to send out a RAK of some cool scrap booking stuff sooo, give me some comments and I will randomly select one.
Can't wait to here from you!
